Search Engine Strategies (SES) conference

On June 8th and 9th, as a part of York university's volunteer group, I attended the SES conference which was held at the Sheraton Centre in Downtown, Toronto.
The conference provided the marketer a guideline to the search engine era. It's the beginning of new era of search marketing. Search engine is changing the way the marketer track their consumers. With the help of social media, marketers can easily access to their target market. As the Marketing director of Yahoo!, Nick Papsiopolis stated in the conference, " Search application will be going everywhere. Everything will be about the search engine".
Some of the conference highlights are the presentation from the author of the Anatomy of Buzz revisited, Emanuel Rosen who mention about the similarity between the word of mouth marketing and the Buzz marketing. Then we have Mark Evans, the Principal of ME consulting and Krista Neher, the CEO of Marketess.com who shared their views about the common mistake the big companies make with the social media. The truth is that it is not easy to create and maintain the social media website, it need lots of work and time. Finally on the growing mobile market, the views were shared by Cindy Krum, the CEO of Rank Mobile, Nick Papsiopolis, MD of Yahoo! Canada and Miriam Warren, the Marketing director, Yelp.com. They all agreed on the bright future of the mobile market. It's the era of Smart phone.
The conference ended on the high note with various training workshops provided to the marketers on the next day. During this rough economy time, it is vital for the companies to carefully plan their strategies to target the right market and improve their ROI(Return of Investment) with their market campaign.
